wait a second so how the fuck is there a website devoted to letting people make sure that pets don’t die in the movies they want to watch but there isn’t a website for like “does a woman get battered in this movie?” or “is a woman assaulted in this movie”
damn internet
jsyk, for anyone who may need it, there’s a site that aims to compile a list of movies, tv shows, books, and other media with triggering topics in them.
But yeah, I still TOTALLY agree with you.
this is my list of games i play when i feel sad or hypomanic
theyre all browser games so u dont need to d/l anything to play
lots of them are p simple and not too taxing so they dont frazzle your brain out any worse, but are still interesting enough to be fun
*Floribular- be a gardener and place flowers in a grid to clear rows of similar flowers, also its super cute
*NeliNurk- like a cross between tetris and bejewelled where you clear tiles by making rectangles with them
*Kavalmaja- maze exploring sort of game with puzzles, also it gives you a randomly generated character name (i got Epixog Treefixer)
*fl0w- youre a little plankton creature and when you eat other smaller plankton creatures, you evolve and get more and more beautiful each time. also dont get eaten by bigger things. youre living under the sea. things are glowy. you are glowy and peaceful
*any of the Eyezmaze games, but especially
Grow Cube- add the right elements at the right time to get them to max out and complete the animation right. little people on an isometric cube. one of the elements is a plate
Grow Valley- add the right elements at the right time to get them to max out and fully advance the civilisation in the valley, also there is a secret ending
Grow ver.2- add the right shapes in the right order so that they… evolve? its little shape creatures in a forest and they power up and stuff its rad
* Folds- a sort of origami game, with really neat looking paper, making nice clean edges
*Interlocked- you know those wooden puzzles that are made out of a bunch of separate parts and you have to twist and slide them to separate the puzzle? its that
*Cat Astro Phi- this is like a retro action adventure game that looks like an old gameboy game. youre an astronaut who sucks at steering your spaceship, and you keep crashing and losing your kitty on alien planets, so you go rescue your kitty
*REDDER- kinda retro adventure exploration game with puzzles. youre an astronaut who crashes on a planet (i think its mars but nobody ever wants to say that for some reason), and your fuel cell splits up into pieces which you have to collect so you can escape. its gets weirdly introspective and eerie its great. its not so happy but its really really good
*William and Sly and the sequel- youre a fox and you go leaping and bounding through a huge forest solving problems and puzzles, and also there are fairies
I’ve kind of become obsessed with makeup tutorials on youtube lately so I thought I would share the ones that I thought were the best quality, since people might not know there are like serious makeup artists on youtube now and not just 14 year old girls avoiding their homework (or michelle phan). The links will take you to the artists youtube channel. I’ve tried to include as many as I could for differing skin tones and ethnicities.
- Lisa Eldridge: she’s a serious makeup artist working for fashion magazines and fashion shows, and you can tell by the flawless production values of her videos. She has tons of videos up for everything from how to pick foundation to everyday looks to full out party makeup. Her biggest drawback is that she does not use models with darker skin often (although she has once or twice). She also has some looks with olive-skinned and asian models.
- Charlotte Tilbury: she is also a pretty renowned makeup artist (she has a video showing how she did the make for the tom ford fashion show). Her channel is rather new though so she doesn’t have very many videos up. She also so far has only used light-skinned models save for one occasion, where she did a really nice look on a black model.
- Jordan Liberty: I was a bit skeptical at first because he has a penchant for wearing a skewed baseball cap permanently, but he does really great work, and uses models of varying skin tones and ethnicities. He does particularly great work on black model Ashley Brielle who is a regular in his videos.
- Desitny Godley: she has great makeup tutorials, product reviews, hair tips (both for natural hair and lots of how-to’s and tips for wigs and weaves) and on and on for black women.
- BeautybyJJ: same goes for this makeup artist, who has everything from product reviews to fashion to hair to how to wear a scarf to everyday makeup to celebrity makeup tutorials for black women (or women with darker skin). And like Godley, there are tons of videos.
- Wayne Goss: he’s got tons of videos and lots of great tips (like how to stop your concealer from creasing in little lines) and some great tutorials if you want to learn about contouring a la kim kardashian. As far as I can tell though, he does not use models with dark skin. And he’s really into putting a lot of product on the face so he’s not really the best for everyday or natural looks.
- Eman: I’m not sure what her ethnicity is but she is a makeup artist with olive skin and I think her videos are great and anyone with olive skin can get lots ideas for colors and looks from her channel (although she’s is on the lighter side of spectrum).
- Jen: Jen is an east asian makeup artist. her looks are always really nice and she’s particularly good for people with monolids who would like to know how to do a smokey eye or winged liner for example.
Just remember that a lot of these people get lots of free stuff and may be pimping certain things (unless stated otherwise), so make sure to try something out fully before buying it.
Here is a brief guide to some of the important things you never learned about in sex ed.

a rec list of subjectively awesome under-appreciated YA bc all i get on tumblr is john green and thg and lately the mortal instruments and there is good YA i swear
- White Cat by Holly Black: modern day urban fantasy noir with a MOC what else do you need ETA: HOLLY BLACK IN GENERAL OK
- Liar by Justine Larbalestier: a beautiful mindfuck of truths you won’t believe by a bi WOC narrator
- The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater: for an understanding between souls who eat and breath man-eating horses of the sea some like to call romance (do not go in expecting the hunger games whatever the description reads)
- Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healey: SUBVERTED PERSEPHONE - not explicitly but still. this book is entrenched in its New Zealand setting and built entirely on Maori myth
- Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud: it’s abt magicians and stuff and w/e ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THAT THEIR POWERS COME FROM SLAVERY AND BARTIMAEUS XEMSELF JUST READ
- The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan: Supernatural set in the UK and this amoral pair of brothers get blackmailed by a pink-haired girl (who eventually becomes the heroine yay!) into helping her brother.
- Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor: a collection of short stories based on Western fairyfolk written to wring out tears of awe.
- Skin Hunger by Kathleen Duey: there are no words [tw: torture, abuse, it’s extremely disturbing so prepare for everything tbh]
- Star Crossed by Elizabeth C. Bunce: a YA ASOFAI where religious sects fight for the throne centered on a thief with blood on her hands and magic in her veins. (it’s also a perfect winter read.)
- Ash by Malinda Lo: a lesbian retelling of Cinderella and this is intensely biased as i have a crush on cinderella’s love interest
- Eon by Alison Goodman: i can’t say anything for its authenticity but its world is based on ancient China and is a good deal less offensive than other ancient china recs i’ve seen, so for a change of setting.
- Devil’s Kiss by Sarwat Chadda: also set in the UK, it stars a Middle-Eastern girl Templer Knight raised in the business.
- Rampant by Diana Peterfreund: killer unicorns and the cloister of huntresses who kill them. that is all
- Everything by Courtney Summers: her protagonists range from the terrible to the flawed and it’s a breath of fresh air in a genre where all main characters must be Good. [tw: for some transmisogyny in cracked up to be]
idk if she’s truly underappreciated on tumblr but i feel like no one reads her anyway and this is my list so- Everything by Melina Marchetta: it’s the soul nourishment you didn’t know you needed. i advise you buy half her books if buying bc you’ll be lost after the first one.
everyone read Star Crossed so you can commiserate with me on my digger/merista feels

Okay. I agree. I’ve been socially conditioned not to notice racism and recognize my privilege. What can I do?I don’t care about this bullshit; you’re making a big deal out of nothing, go home and delete your blog:
How to make your sidebar picture change on refresh
Find a part in your theme where your sidebar image should be.It should look something similar to this:
<img src="{image:sidebar}">Delete it and replace it with this code. -LINK-
Now replace IMAGE URL with image url (obviously).
You can add as many pictures/gifs as you want.
If you want to upload a big gif (over 1mb but less than 5mb), I suggest you to upload a sidebar gif on one of your side blogs and copy the picture link.
If you tried this and it didn’t work for you, please paste your theme html on pastebin.com, message me the link and I’ll try to help you.
